The unusual path of discovery for a baby volcano!

I'm a huge volcano-geek, and I'm also the kind of person who watches real-time deep sea exploration with NOAA's ship the Okeanos Explorer on YouTube. This story from National Geographic has both - the possible birth of a submarine volcano and a citizen scientist who was watching real-time seismogram displays and noticed something weird:
"In November, the curious low-frequency rumbles began their global spread, sticking around for more than 20 minutes. Too low of a frequency for humans to feel, only one person noticed the curious waves: An earthquake enthusiast who goes by the handle @matarikipax spotted the unusual zigzags on the U.S. Geological Survey's real-time seismogram displays and posted them on Twitter, drawing an international cohort of scientists to the mystery."
Fascinating from a purely scientific point of view and exciting that someone who geeks-out online to their favorite real-time science can discover a mystery. Keep watching!
